Work Accident Claim Injury

Back Injury At Work

We acted for a lady by the name of Sarah who sustained an injury to her back when a set of shelves at work came away from the wall and fell on to Sarah whilst she was sitting below them.

Immediately following the accident Sarah developed a large bruise across the width of her back and upper right arm and over the course of the subsequent few days she began to suffer from sciatica type pains down both legs.

A letter was sent to her employer's insurance company notifying them of the work accident compensation claim. They accepted responsibility for the accident.

Medical evidence was subsequently obtained from an orthopaedic consultant who advised that the accident had brought forward Sarah's already existing back symptoms by a period of approximately 3-4 years but that due to pre-existing and unrelated problems with her back any symptoms that she had after that time would not be related to the accident.

Sarah's claim for compensation was settled approximately 2 years after the employer's insurance company accepted liability in the sum of £7,800.00.
