Profile

Growing up in her parents' nursing home, Lucy was perhaps inevitably drawn to a career in nursing.

Having trained in London at the Middlesex Hospital, she spent the next fifteen years working in a variety of major teaching hospitals in London, including The Royal Free Hospital, as a staff nurse and senior staff nurse, specialising in cancer care and palliative care. Having undertaken further study and completed a Degree in Nursing, she became a clinical nurse specialist, working mostly in the community.

During her studies, however, Lucy had become increasingly interested in issues of ethics and found herself contemplating a change of career. Typical of her degree of commitment, she gave up work to focus entirely on training for the law. Both during her studies and her training contract, she found herself drawn to the field of clinical negligence and has worked exclusively in clinical negligence claims since she qualified as a solicitor in 2004. Whilst having broad-ranging experience, her areas of particular expertise are cancer claims, maternal birth injuries, cauda equina claims and general surgery.

Lucy joined Glynns in 2009 and is now a Senior Associate Solicitor and team leader.

She is also an accredited member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel.

Lucy's careers in both nursing and law have been underpinned by a desire to improve the circumstances and lives of the people she encounters. As a solicitor, she is driven to achieve the best for her clients, thereby aiming to improve the quality of lives which have been damaged by clinical negligence.

Lucy shares her home with her husband, her cat, her dogs, her chickens and the resident ducks.
