{"id":583,"date":"2015-09-21T11:30:49","date_gmt":"2015-09-21T10:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glynns.co.uk\/blog\/?p=583"},"modified":"2021-07-13T11:44:37","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T10:44:37","slug":"nhs-staff-would-not-recommend-hospital-to-loved-ones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glynns.co.uk\/blog\/nhs-staff-would-not-recommend-hospital-to-loved-ones\/","title":{"rendered":"NHS Staff Would Not Recommend Hospital To Loved Ones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Staff at some NHS hospital trusts consider the standard of care to be so poor that they would warn loved ones to seek treatment elsewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">The NHS survey asked employees whether they would recommend treatment at the hospital in which they worked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">The results have prompted the Care Quality Commission to flag nine trusts as being at risk, with almost half of staff saying they would warn loved ones not to have treatment there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">The worst performer was the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, where just 50.4% of staff would recommend treatment to family and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">The other eight trusts which also scored poorly are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust \u2013 53.37%<\/li>\n<li>Mid Yorkshire Hospitals \u2013 54.41%<\/li>\n<li>East Sussex Healthcare \u2013 56.46%<\/li>\n<li>Wirral University Hospital \u2013 57.32%<\/li>\n<li>United Lincolnshire Hospitals \u2013 57.40%<\/li>\n<li>Colchester Hospital \u2013 57.59%<\/li>\n<li>Heart of England \u2013 57.77%<\/li>\n<li>East Kent Hospitals \u2013 58.01%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Poor hospital care<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">If you or your loved one has suffered as a result of substandard hospital care, please get in touch with our team at Glynns Solicitors.
