The BBC has reported today that the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay HNS Foundation Trust has been put into the new Recovery Support Programme introduced by the NHS earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

Following an unplanned inspection by the Care Quality Commission, the Trust has been identified as having demonstrated a \u2018significant downturn\u2019 in the delivery of some of its healthcare services.<\/p>\n

The Trust has been plagued by problems over the years including concerns regarding its delivery of maternity services, urology care and orthopaedics.<\/p>\n

The recent inspection prompted concerns regarding stroke services with inspectors reportedly commenting that they \u2018were not assured that all patient had received care in a timely way, exposing them to the risk of harm.\u2019<\/p>\n

On its website, the Trust has recognised that is has faced additional difficulties due to the pressures of Covid-19 and looks forward to improving patient care with the support of the Recovery Support Programme.<\/p>\n
