As recently reported by the BBC, surgeons at Walsall Manor Hospital have destroyed a woman’s chances of having further children by removing the wrong fallopian tube.<\/p>\n
Chelsie Thomas was suffering with an ectopic pregnancy, where a fertilised egg had become stuck in her right fallopian tube instead of moving into the womb.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, an error was made during the procedure to resolve the ectopic pregnancy and her healthy left fallopian tube was incorrectly removed instead of the right one.<\/p>\n
Such an incident would be described by the NHS as a \u2018never event\u2019 because, put simply, this sort of mistake should never occur.<\/p>\n
Ms Thomas has been left infertile.<\/p>\n
